Cougar athletes participated in these recent races. We have been training consistently under Dr. Balasekaran's coaching. We have been doing pretty good. Some of us achieved personal best timings in these races. Pure hard work really pays off at the end. We always come back stronger and tougher after each race.
SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2018
Half Marathon, 21.1km
26 August 2018 @ Esplanade Bridge
Adriano did his personal best yet again after his Rome half marathon race. His effort and hard work is paying off with his timings getting faster. He did not allow the morning rush affect his race, with grit and determination, he ran a great pace throughout the race! Well done to Adriano!
Darine did her personal best for this 10km race too! Each race allowed her to be stronger and better prepared. As well for Song Lim, our Cougars' Committee member, who also did his personal best for 10km. Song Lim and Cheo managed to keep pace with each other throughout the race. Great team work!
Cheo won 3rd place for 10km Women's category. It was a pleasant surprise.
Great Eastern Women's Run 2018
13 October 2018 @Sports Hub
This route for this year's run was different from last year's. Although the route was not as clear and the marshals were unable to guide every athlete properly, the weather was cool and it was a perfect condition to race. Darine did her personal best again for 10km! She has improved. Good work! Cheo managed to come in 5th in the Women's Closed 10km category and maintained her timings despite running slightly extra distance.
While waiting for the rain to subside, we met Sharon, friend of Cougars, before the start of the GE race.
CSC Run by The Bay
20 October 2018 @Marina Reservoir
Most recent race held at Marina Reservoir where Song Lim raced. With running as his passion, he still manages to take time off for training. For this race, he hit his target and achieved his timing. Great job Song Lim in achieving sub 1hr for this route!
Asics Relay 2018 Singapore
20 October 2018 @Sentosa
And another concurrent race held at Sentosa. It's always fun running relay races with team mates and friends. Cheo ran with a team of three other girls, Jean Chia, Vanja Cnops and Sumiko Tan in the all female category. The route at sentosa was a tough one, with the "never-ending" slope. As it was a night race, some corners were dark, Jean fell and cut herself. She picked herself up again and pull through to the end. Vanja and Sumiko ran really well on their part. We did a good job as a team and #just4fun managed to clinch the 3rd place. Another pleasant surprise!
Thank you Dr. Bala for all your patience, time and effort in coaching all of us!

Contented and happy.
